National Clinical Routing Service For Exchange of Critical Patient Information

Willmar, MN, July 23, 2007 -- MEDNETWorld.com announced today that the city of Willmar, MN, will be the first city in Minnesota to connect to their National Clinical Routing Service™, to support the exchange of critical patient information. The focus will be on supporting the information needs to improve care for congestive heart care patients.

MEDNET technology allows doctors and patients secure access to the patient's medical records at any health organization connected to the personal e-health record system (PHR), MyHealthfolio, within the Willmar / MEDNET system.

Stratis Health, a Bloomington, MN-based non-profit organization, hired MEDNET and Avenet Web Solutions to create this secure patient e-health record system connecting the Willmar health care organizations. MEDNET will be providing patient record security, patient cards and a nationally connectible network.

Congestive heart care patients were chosen first for this demonstration project because of the fragility of their health. They require a great deal of health services and doctors need instant access to all their health records wherever they may be.

According to John Fraser, CEO of MEDNET, "A patient's medical records are often spread across several clinics, hospitals and doctors' offices. We will be connecting all the health care organizations in Willmar with their own secure network so providers and patients can securely access patient medical information.

"Like VISA™", Fraser said, "MEDNET's system doesn't store any information about patients. We'll simply be providing a network based on federally-approved security protocols between health care organizations in Willmar." "We act as the neutral third party to these transactions, providing a secure, reliable and national system that all providers and public health can plug into."

Furthermore, once the project progresses, MEDNET will allow Willmar medical organizations access into a secure national infrastructure to support the secure exchange of critical patient information, anytime, anywhere, saving time, money and lives.
