What is: The Nationwide Health Information Network?
The Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) has been developed by the U. S. Government and The Office of The National Coordinator ONC to provide a secure, nationwide, interoperable health information infrastructure.
The Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) is a “Network of Networks”, providing connectivity between Consumers; Healthcare Insurance Companies (Payors); Hospital and Clinical Groups (Providers); Electronic Health Record (EHR or EMR), Healthcare System, and Third Party Vendors (Partners); State and Federal Government Agencies (Government); and, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, and Research Organizations (Research).
MEDNET supports, participates as a partner, and is in compliance with the
Federal Health Architecture (FHA) NHIN CONNECT Program.
